I Hear a Series of Beeps When I Pick Up My Receiver

With Voice Mail on the line, a series of beeping tones known as stutter dial tone plays when a message is waiting

Voice Mail Instructions by Area

• CA, OR and WA
• IL, IN, MA, MD, NY, PA, VA and Washington DC
• Brownwood / Early, TX
• Houston, TX
• All Other Areas in TX

Without Voice Mail, there may be a problem with equipment or a jack

1. Unplug the phone and plug in a phone that is working properly; your phone may need new batteries
    
2. If the problem persists, unplug phones and equipment from the jacks/electrical outlets
    
3. Plug each piece of equipment back in, one by one, to determine the equipment causing the beeps
    

• Check all phones; a receiver may be off the hook


• Check all cordless phones; they pick up interference from other phones, ham radios, baby monitors, etc


• Try a corded phone to determine if a cordless phone is experiencing interference
