Important
- IPTV boxes use an interface made by TiVo, but are not handled the same as TiVos
- Pay close attention to the Box type before choosing the proper steps
-
IPTV Remote Troubleshooting
- The activity light on the remote should blink with each key press. If the lights does not blink, try replacing the batteries
- Power-Cycle the set-top box
- Important! Identify your IPTV remote model (S6A / S6A (updated) / Creek) from the IPTV Remote Controls Page
- Refer to the IPTV Remote Controls Page for your specific model to program (and possibly reset) the remote if needed
- Most newer TVs can be automatically synced / programmed to the remote, provided there is a clear line of sight to the TV and the user is on the correct page of the TiVo user interface:
- Go to TiVo Home | left arrow to Menu | under Settings, choose Remote Settings
- Choose Pair a remote with your box or Remote Control Information for more options (reset remote, program to TV, etc)

TiVo Remote Troubleshooting
Important: these are remotes that control TiVo models, not IPTV remotes
-
TiVo does not respond to Remote commands
-
- Manually power cycle the TiVo
- If the remote is in IR mode, the LED will light up red. In RF or BlueTooth mode (depending on the remote model), the LED will be amber
- If in IR mode, the remote needs a clear line of sight to the TV and TiVo converter in order to control them
- If possible, set the remote to RF (or Bluetooth) mode by pairing the remote to the TiVo device. This way, the remote can control the TiVo device around corners, though walls, through an entertainment center, etc.
- Keep in mind, setting the remote to RF just controls the converter. The TV will always need a clear line of sight to be controlled
- See the TiVo Remote Controls Page for instructions specifically for the TiVo remote the customer has in hand
- Once paired, the TiVo remote's LED lights up amber (RF/BT mode)
- Test the TiVo remote again
- Reset the TiVo remote as a last resort
- Useful Information:
- When programming the remote to the TV, make a note of your device code for the future!

-

- When programming the remote to the TV, make a note of your device code for the future!
