TiVo Home Network Settings (MoCA)

TiVo Connection Types

  • Ethernet + MoCA: TiVo 4 tuner or 6 tuner is connected directly to a router; Originating MoCA signal

  • MoCA Connection: MoCA client; not originating MoCA signal, but using it; not connected to a router

  • Ethernet Connection: 2 Tuner TiVo will always say Ethernet Connection

    • 2 Tuner TiVos don't understand the MoCA signal, but the ECB (Ethernet to Coax Bridge) does

      • The ECB is used to connect TiVo to Internet services when the TiVo is not directly connected to the router

    • The 2 tuner TiVo detects the Ethernet connection to the ECB

    • The ECB is always configured for MoCA, the 2 Tuner TiVo just needs Ethernet turned on
