Program Remote - Popular Brands

This remote is programmed by default to command Motorola/Pace/Arris and Scientific Atlanta/Cisco converters. No programming to these converters is necessary.

  1. Turn on the TV
  2. Press and hold SETUP until LED blinks twice
  3. Press the TV POWER key for device you wish to setup. The LED stays lit
  4. Find your TV brand from the charts below and note the DIGIT key assigned to your brand. Using your number buttons, press and hold down the DIGIT key for your TV
  5. If your brand does not appear in the brand chart, perform setup using either DIRECT CODE ENTRY or CODE SEARCH
    • Let go of the key when your device turns off. Setup for that device is complete
 

Programming Your TV

To program (setup) the remote to operate your TV...

  1. Turn on your TV
  2. Press the TV POWER key
  3. Press and hold SETUP until LED blinks twice
  4. Enter 1st code for your TV brand from the code list

    or...

    or...
  5. Press the TV POWER button to test TV control.
    • If the TV turns off, setup is complete.
    • If the TV does not turn off, repeat above steps using the next code for your brand
  6. Write your TV brand & setup code for future reference.
 

Code Search Method

Champ.jpg This method allows you to program the remote control WITHOUT using CODES. Instead, the remote control will actually find the device you are trying to set by looking through it's code library until it finds the correct code for your device. You then lock in the correct code as described below.

To program (setup) the remote using CODE SEARCH:
 
  1. Turn on the TV
     
  2. Press and hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice
  3. Press the TV POWER button. The LED will stay lit
     
  4. Press and HOLD DOWN the OK/SELECT key. Let go of the OK/SELECT key when your device turns off.
     
  5. Press the TV POWER button to turn the device back on

  6. If you'd like to find out what your code is for future use, see the next section (Code Number Readback)
 

Code Number Readback

Champ.jpg To identify the 4-digit setup code for your device, follow these steps:
 
  1. Press the TV POWER key
     
  2. Press and hold SETUP until the LED key blinks twice
     
  3. Press 9-9-0 on the remote. The LED key blinks twice
     
  4. To view first digit in your 4 digit code, press 1 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back
    ​​​​
    • Press 2 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your second digit

    • Press 3 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your third digit

    • Press 4 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your fourth digit
       
      • NOTE: If a code digit is “0” the red light will not blink

  5. Write your device's brand & setup code for future reference
 

Battery Info

Champ.jpg Install two (2) "AA" batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment. Be careful to properly match the "+ / -" ends of the batteries with the diagram in the battery compartment.

When the battery is low, the remote control LED will become dim or not illuminate at all during use. When this happens, install 2 new "AA" size batteries.

 

Button Functions

Champ.jpg Button Functions Your Champ remote ONLY works in the Cable mode. Here is how your remote will function in this mode:
cable.jpg Turns cable box on/off
tv.jpg Turns TV on/off
input.jpg Changes the TV's INPUT channel (if so equipped)
[0] - [9]: Allows you to jump to the desired channel on the converter.
menu.jpg Displays on-screen features, options. 
guide.jpg Displays on-screen listing of programs by date, time, channel.
info.jpg Displays channel, time information. Press TWICE to browse channels
Pressing

Shows previous / next day in view guide.
nav.jpg Navigates on-screen menus, program guide, PPV events and interactive services.

Also controls VOD and DVR playback

ok.jpg Selects menu option, program PPV events and function options.
page.jpg: Pages up / down through menus, view guide.
fav.jpg or list.jpg: If fav.jpg:
When in the interactive guide
, choose "Favorite channels" from the on-screen menu. Pressing the OK button on a selected channel will add it to your list of favorite channels.

When out of the interactive guide, pressing FAV will scroll through your list of favorite channels that you stored through the interactive guide.

If list.jpg:
Displays on-screen list DVR recorded programs. (DVR function only)

exit.jpg: Exits on-screen menus, guide.
a.jpg: Utilizes specific commands within IPG
b.jpg: Utilizes specific commands within IPG
c.jpg: Utilizes specific commands within IPG
d.jpg: Swaps the tuner in the Dual Tuner DVR, so that you can watch one program and record another at the same time. (DVR only)
vol.jpg: Increases / decreases TV  volume.
mute.jpg: Mutes the TV volume.
last.jpg: Displays last channel viewed. 
vod.jpg: Displays on-screen Video On Demand menu
ch.jpg: Increases / decreases converter channel.
replay.jpg REPLAY - Replays last few seconds of DVR recorded program.
(DVR function only)
live.jpg Goes back to live TV broadcast.
(DVR function only)
stop.jpg Stops (video-on-demand/DVR)
pause.jpg Pauses (video-on-demand/DVR)
play.jpg Plays (video-on-demand/DVR)
rew.jpg Rewinds (video-on-demand/DVR)
rec.jpg Records (DVR)
ff.jpg Fast-forwards (video-on-demand/DVR)
