Record Icon

Record: select to initiate a recording

  • Icon is bright when recording; dim when not

  • Icon is bright when recording on the other tuner; dim when not

Parental Controls: shortcut to Parental Controls

  • Off: icon unlocked and dim
  • On: icon locked and bright
  • Temporarily Disabled: icon unlocked and bright

  • Icon is bright when you have a new TiVo Message

Alternate Audio: indicator of Alternate Audio

  • Icon is bright when a show has Secondary Audio Programming (SAP)

  • Turn on or off, and control text size and color

The TiVo channel banner shows icons that let you quickly record shows, switch tuners, check messages, and adjust settings like parental controls and captions. The icons light up or change to show when features like recording, new messages, or special audio options are active.
