Record Special Episodes on TiVo

Special Episodes with TiVo OnePass

  • If a special episode of a show has a OnePass, a separate recording for that episode may be needed
     
  • A title change may cause a TiVo not to recognize a special episode as part of a series
     
  • Example: Survivor aired a one-hour reunion special after the final episode of the season
     
    • The reunion special was not recorded as part of a Season Pass because it didn't have the same title as the other episodes 
       
    • A separate recording for this episode had to be scheduled
       
  • Creating a Title Wishlist Search helps avoid missing special episodes of an existing OnePass
     
 

Create a Wishlist Search

 

  • 4 Tuners, 2 Tuners, Single Tuners, and Minis on TiVo Experience 3
     
    • Go to TiVo Central | Search, OnePass & Manage | Wishlist Searches | Create a new WishList Search
      (see Wishlist steps)
       
    4K 6 Tuners, 6 Tuners , 4K Minis, and Minis on TiVo Experience 4
     
    • Go to TiVo Home | Search, OnePass & Manage | Wishlist Searches | Create a new WishList Search
      (see Wishlist steps)

       
  • Select Title Keyword and enter keywords for search, then select Done
     
  • Select Go to Upcoming Matches to ensure the Wishlist found the program to record
     

Special episodes may not record with OnePass if the title is different, so you may need to schedule the episode separately or create a WishList search to catch it.
