Copy Protection Rules
-
Copy Protection rules are set forth by Macrovision™; we recognize and follow these rules established by the Program Providers
- Copy Never: content is not allowed to be recorded by a TiVo DVR
- 7 Day Unlimited: content is allowed unlimited recording/viewing within 7 days of the original recording date
- 7 Day/24 Hours: content can be stored up to 7 days; once viewing has started, it must be completed within 24 hours
Please direct all questions regarding copy protection on PPV or VOD to the copyright holders themselves
-
Digital Cable Content Copy Protection
-
We comply with protections for Digital Cable Content
- Copy Protection Rules vary by content type; in general, Premium and Pay Channels are more restrictive than other channels
- Copy Freely: content is not copy protected
- Copy Once: can record, but cannot transfer it to another device
- Copy Never: content can be recorded and viewed for 90 minutes after transmission, and is not transferable
In accordance with Federal Encoding Rules, subscribers are able to make only a single copy of programming on these channels
- If a customer has a TiVo, they can record only one copy to their main TiVo device, but cannot make subsequent copies to other TiVos, TiVo-To-Go or any other digital recording device
- This is known as Copy Once protection
- In addition, Federal Encoding Rules state subscribers may not make any copies of OnDemand or (some) PPV programming that may be associated with these channels; this is known as Copy Never protection
