Programming TV - Brand Search

IPTV_remote_lg.jpg The TV, TV input, VOL+, VOL- and MUTE keys on the remote control can be programmed to operate your TV.

To do this, your remote control must first learn the ‘brand code’ of your TV. By default, the remote control is programmed with the most common brand code 1150 (Samsung).

 

  1. Press HOME and 1 for at least three seconds to switch the remote control to infra-red (IR) mode.
     
  2. The POWER key flashes twice when the remote control has switched to IR mode
     
  3. If you make a mistake, press Back to exit the procedure. The remote control will revert to normal operation. No TV brand code will be stored.
     
  4. Find the 4-digit brand code for your TV from the list in section 10 TV IR codes
     
  5. Make sure your TV is turned on. The STB does not need to be turned on for the brand search
     
  6. Press HOME and 3 for at least three seconds until the STB key flashes twice and remains on
     
  7. Enter the TV Code for your TV. On each digit entry the STB key will flash

  8. If successful, the TV key will flash once and remain on. If unsuccessful, the TV key will give a long flash and the remote control will revert to normal operation. No brand code will be stored
     
  9. To check you can control your TV, press and hold either TV or MUTE. When the TV turns off or mutes, release TV or MUTE
     
  10. Press Back to leave the brand search mode
     
  11. If you change your TV to a different brand the remote control will require re-programming. Repeat this brand search procedure with the brand code for your new TV
 

Programming TV - Auto Search

  • If you cannot find the TV Code by the brand search method then auto search can be used. Note: this process may take several minutes to find your TV brand code.

    Make sure your TV is turned on. The STB does not need to be turned on for the auto search

    1. Press HOME and 1 for at least three seconds to switch the remote control to infra-red (IR) mode
       
    2. The Power key flashes twice when the remote control has switched to IR mode
       
    3. Press HOME and 3 together for at least three seconds until the STB key flashes twice and remains on
       
    4. Enter the 4-digit code 9 9 9 9. On each keypress the STB key will flash
       
    5. If successful, the STB key will flash once and remain on. If unsuccessful the TV key will give a long flash and the remote control will revert to normal operation
       
    6. To check the TV control is operating, press and hold either the TV or MUTE key. When the TV turns off or mutes, release the TV or MUTE key
       
    7. Press Back to leave the auto search mode. If brand search and auto search fail, then the remote control is unable to control your TV
 

Auto Pairing to the Android Box

  • Auto pairing can be triggered by the remote control in two cases:

  •  
  1. After the batteries have been inserted
     
  2. After any key is pressed, and the STB key flashes to confirm the keypress

     
To auto pair the remote control and the STB:
 
  1. Ensure the Android Box is powered on and the TV key on the remote control is not lit
     
  2. Press HOME Button and the OK button for 5 seconds

    • If pairing is successful: The power key flashes blue once to confirm pairing and the remote control changes to Bluetooth/RF mode
       
    • If pairing is unsuccessful: The power key gives a long flash to indicate an error. You must press Back to stop pairing or to use another function
 

Manually Pairing to the Android Box

IPTV_remote_lg.jpg The Android Box must be in pairing mode, which can be one of the following states:

  • Two minutes after the Android Box boots back up

  • Pairing page of the setup wizard is shown
  • Pairing instructions are shown on screen


To pair manually:
 
  • Press HOME and OK for at least three seconds until the TV key flashes to acknowledge. The timeout for pairing is 60 seconds
     
  • If pairing is successful: The TV key flashes once to confirm pairing and the remote control changes to Bluetooth/RF mode
     
  • If pairing is unsuccessful: The TV key gives a long flash to indicate an error. During pairing no remote control keys will work except the POWER 3 key. You must press Back to stop pairing or to use another function
 

Learning mode

  1. Choose your ‘target key’ on the remote control. It must be one of the following keys: TV, TV input, VOL+, VOL-, MUTE
     
    • The target key you have chosen will learn a function from the source remote control
       
  2. Press 4 and 6 for three seconds until the STB key flashes twice then remains on
     
  3. Press your target key within 30 seconds:
     
    • If valid, the STB key will give a confirmation flash and remain on
       
    • If invalid, or you do not press within 30 seconds, the STB key will give a long flash and return to user mode
       
  4. Hold the remote control 1-2 inches from the source remote control with the IR windows facing each other, then press your target key on the source remote control
     
    • e.g. if your target key on the Maxi ATV remote control is mute, press mute on the source remote control
       
    • If the IR signal is received correctly, the STB key will turn off and the Maxi ATV remote control will return to normal mode (note: this can overwrite a previously learned code)
       
    • If the IR signal is not received correctly, or is received after 30 seconds, the Maxi ATV remote control will not store the code from the source remote control: it will give a long flash and return to user mode
       
  5. Note: If the Back key is pressed on the Maxi ATV remote control while it is waiting for an IR signal, the STB key will give a long flash and return to user mode. (If the target key is pressed, any learned code on it is cleared.)
     

To clear the target key:

  1. Press 4 and 6 for at least three seconds until the STB key flashes twice then remains on
     
  2. Press your <target key> twice. The STB key will flash to confirm the target key is cleared.
 

Factory Reset

  1. Press 1 and 6 for at least three seconds until the STB key flashes twice then stays on
     
  2. Enter the key sequence 9 8 1. The TV key will flash twice and the remote control returns to factory settings:
    • Bluetooth/RF mode, Samsung brand code (1150) and unpaired
